  • 1 cup grits
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 egg yolks
  • salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
  • 1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar

Cook grits in water with a little salt.  Cool.  Add egg yolks, baking powder, egg whites & cheese.  Bake at 325° for 1 hour.

Heat leftovers in frying pan for breakfast; add a little butter.
